ETOSHA TOUR (5 Days) - CODE SWAS 5

Day 1:

Departure from Windhoek to the North. Drive via Okahandja, the former tribal centre of the Herero people, Otjiwarongo and Outjo to the famous Etosha National Park. First game-viewing drive.
Dinner/ bed/breakfast, at Camp Okaukuejo or similar.

Day 2:

Full day of game viewing in the Etosha National Park which is one of the major sanctuaries of wildlife in Africa. The area was proclaimed a game reserve as far back as 1907. The size of the park is 22270km˛ and it consists mainly of grass and bush savannah. This type of landscape provides excellent opportunities for game viewing at the numerous waterholes or in the open countryside.
The Etosha Pan which the park is named after is approximately 6000km˛ in size. In the language of the Ovambo people, Etosha means “ place of dry water” or “large white place”.
Dinner/bed/breakfast at Camp Halali.

Day 3:

Another game viewing day is spent in the Etosha National Park. In the late afternoon, you leave the park and continue to a small lodge.
Dinner/bed/breakfast at !Uris Safari Lodge.

Day 4:

After breakfast drive to Tsumeb and visit the Mine Museum. Proceed via Otjiwarongo to the Mt.Etjo Safari Lodge. Situated in one of the most scenic parts of Namibia. You can come into close contact with nature itself. Hundreds of species of birds and mammals can be sighted here, incl. elephant, black and white rhino, giraffe and numerous antelope, ranging from the majestic kudu to the diminutive Damara dik-dik. Predators, such as lion, leopard and cheetah also roam this area. In the late afternoon game drive incl. sun-downer.
Dinner/ bed/breakfast at Mt.Etjo Safari Lodge.

Day 5:

Return to Windhoek via Okahandja. Visit the woodcarver’s market, the graves of the great Herero chiefs and the old cemetery with graves of members of the German “Schutztruppe”.
Tour ends in Windhoek.
