Best Time to Visit Namibia

Namibia has an average of 300 sunny days a year. The rainy season is usually during the summer months (November to April). Within a few days, dry river beds turn into raging rivers and the country awakens in a lush green.

The best time to visit depends on your interests and which regions you want to visit but generally April to October are ideal for exploring this country.

In April and May the temperatures are around 25 degrees during the day with a blue sky stretching across the country. At night temperatures cool down.

In the dry winter months (June to August), temperatures in some regions can drop below freezing, but during the day they can climb up to a sunny 20 degrees.

Namibia’s summer months (November to April) can be extremely hot, so many Namibians travel to the much cooler coast.

The capital, Windhoek, is also bearable during the summer months and occasionally refreshed by short downpours.
